Daily maintenance for water chiller

1, Check Operating Parameters:

  • Monitor the chiller's digital display or control panel for inlet and outlet water temperatures, pressure differentials, and flow rates.

  • Ensure that temperatures and pressures are within the specified operating range. If not, investigate potential issues such as pump failure or insufficient flow.

2, Inspect for Leaks:

  • Conduct a visual inspection of all piping, connections, and fittings for signs of leaks, including water puddles, dampness, or corrosion.

  • Check around valves, joints, and gaskets for any indications of leakage. Repair any leaks immediately to prevent water loss and system damage.

3, Clean Filters:

  • Locate and inspect the chiller's water inlet filters or strainers.

  • Remove any accumulated debris or sediment from the filters using a soft brush or by rinsing with clean water.

  • If the filters are excessively dirty or clogged, replace them with new ones according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

4, Inspect Pump Operation:

  • Listen for any unusual noises or vibrations coming from the chiller pump(s).

  • Check pump pressure gauges or indicators to ensure proper operation and pressure levels.

  • If any abnormalities are observed, such as reduced flow or pressure, investigate and address the root cause promptly.

5, Monitor Water Level:

  • Check the water level in the chiller's reservoir or sump using sight glasses or level indicators.

  • Ensure that the water level is maintained within the recommended range. Add water as necessary to compensate for evaporation or losses.

6,Check Electrical Connections:

  • Visually inspect electrical connections, including wiring, terminals, and connectors, for signs of wear, damage, or overheating.

  • Tighten any loose connections and ensure that electrical components are securely fastened and properly insulated.

7, Clean Condenser Coils:

  • Access the chiller's condenser coils, typically located on the exterior of the unit.

  • Remove any debris, dirt, or dust buildup using a soft brush, compressed air, or a coil cleaning solution.

  • Ensure that the coils are clean and free from obstructions to maximize heat transfer efficiency.
